Awsim is a modern site located in Egypt that contains the remains of Letopolis, an ancient Egyptian city. Historically, it served as the capital of the second nome of Lower Egypt and was known by its Egyptian name Khem.
The city was primarily a center for the worship of the deity Khenty-irty, also known as Khenti-kheti, which is a form of the god Horus. While texts mention the site and its deity dating back to the Old Kingdom, the only surviving monuments at the location date to the Late Period, specifically during the reigns of pharaohs Necho II, Psamtik II, Hakor, and Nectanebo I.
