El Qantarah is a northeastern Egyptian city located in the Ismailia Governorate. It is situated on both sides of the Suez Canal, approximately 160 kilometres (99 mi) northeast of Cairo and 50 kilometres (31 mi) south of Port Said.
The two sections of the city are linked by the Mubarak Peace Bridge, a high-level fixed road bridge. Because this bridge connects the continents of Africa and Asia across the canal, El Qantarah serves as a border town between the two landmasses.
