Samannud is a city, or markaz, located in the Gharbia Governorate of Egypt. Historically known as Sebennytos during classical antiquity, the city has been inhabited since the Ancient Egyptian period.
As of 2019, the population of the Samannud markaz was estimated at 410,388 people. This population is distributed between rural areas, which house approximately 326,971 residents, and urban areas, which contain roughly 83,417 inhabitants.
