Safaga, also known as Port Safaga, is a port city located on the coast of the Red Sea in Egypt. It is situated approximately 53 km (33 mi) south of Hurghada and is connected to Qena in Upper Egypt by a paved road spanning 164 km (102 mi).

The city serves as a significant tourist area featuring various rest houses and bungalows. Additionally, Safaga is regarded as a phosphate export center due to the presence of numerous phosphate mines in the region.
