Venus is the second planet from the Sun in our solar system. It is similar in size and mass to Earth but possesses a significantly different composition and environment. The planet lacks liquid water and features an atmosphere that is far thicker and denser than any other rocky body in the Solar System.
The atmosphere of Venus is primarily composed of carbon dioxide and is covered by a thick layer of sulfuric acid clouds spanning the entire planet. Due to these conditions, surface temperatures reach 737 K with atmospheric pressures 92 times greater than those found at Earth's sea level. These extreme conditions turn the lowest layer of the atmosphere into a supercritical fluid.
From the perspective of Earth, Venus is visible as a star-like point of light. It appears brighter than any other natural point of light in the sky and is commonly referred to as either the "morning star" or the "evening star."
