Trapiche

Ecuador

Trapiche refers to a type of mill constructed with wooden rollers designed to extract juice from various fruits. Historically, these mills were primarily used for processing olives, but since the Middle Ages, they have also been utilized for extracting juice from sugar cane.

The term is also applied by extension to describe the physical location where the milling process occurs. This can refer specifically to the workshop itself or, more broadly, to the entire plantation associated with the mill.
