Reventador is an active stratovolcano located in the eastern Andes of Ecuador. It is situated within a remote area of the national park that shares its name, which translates to "exploder" in Spanish.

The volcano has been historically active, with records indicating over 25 eruptions since 1541. Due to its isolated location, many of these volcanic events have remained unreported.
