Pomasqui is a village located in the Quito Canton of Ecuador. It is situated approximately 16 kilometres north of Quito and 6 kilometres from the equator, positioned along the road leading to Ciudad Mitad del Mundo.
The village's main plaza, Plaza Yerovi, houses two churches: the Church of El Senor del Arbol and the parish church, which contains a collection of religious paintings noted for their unusual style. The community celebrates Dia de Santa Clara and the fiesta of El Senor del Arbol during the month of July. Historically, the southern boundary of the Cara culture extended to this region.
The local economy is characterized by a shoe industry that utilizes parts of the maguey plant found in the area. The climate of Pomasqui is notably dry, which has led to its designation as Piurita.
