Eloy Alfaro is a city located in Ecuador. It is named after José Eloy Alfaro Delgado, a prominent Ecuadorian politician who served as the President of Ecuador during two separate terms: from 1895 to 1901 and again from 1906 to 1911.
Alfaro was a key figure in Ecuadorian history as the leader of the Liberal Party. Known as "The Old Warrior," he was a primary opponent of pro-Catholic conservatism and played a central role in the Liberal Revolution of 1895, spending nearly 30 years fighting against conservative political forces in the country.
