Annaba is a seaport city located in the northeastern corner of Algeria, situated near the border with Tunisia. It is positioned within the Annaba Province and lies close to the small Seybouse River.

The city has been known historically by several names, including Hippone, Bona, and Bône. As of 2019, it had a population of approximately 263,650, while its metropolitan area reached an estimated 1,000,000 residents.

Annaba serves as the third-largest city in Algeria and functions as the country's leading industrial center.
