Merouana is a city located in the Batna Province of Algeria. Situated approximately 40 km from the city of Batna, it serves as one of the oldest local daïras, or districts, in the region.
The city is inhabited by the Chaoui Berbers and functions as the capital of both the Belzma Plain and the Belzma National Park.
