Zarzal

Dominican Republic

Zarzal is a city and municipality located in the northern region of the Valle del Cauca department in Colombia. The municipality has a population of approximately 42,000 residents.

The local economy is primarily driven by the extensive cultivation of sugar cane, as well as small and medium enterprises within the metallurgic sector and utilities. Commerce is also a significant economic pillar for the city, which hosts numerous warehouses for basic necessity goods and a marketplace that serves as a reference point for neighboring cities.

Recent urban development has led to the construction of new city districts in the center of Zarzal. Due to this expansion, it has become increasingly difficult to find vacant land within the city limits.
