Yaso is one of the 20 districts, or woredas, located in the Benishangul-Gumuz region of Ethiopia. It is situated within the Kamashi Zone.
The district is defined by several major rivers that form its borders. To the north, it is bordered by the Abay River, which separates Yaso from the Metekel Zone and the Amhara Region. The Didessa River serves as the western border with Kamashi and Agalo Mite, while the Hanger River lies to the south, separating the area from Belo Jegonfoy. To the southeast, Yaso borders the Oromia Region.
