Verraco is a city located in the Dominican Republic.
The term "verracos" refers to granite megalithic sculptures of animals created by the Vettones people. These monuments are situated in the west of the meseta, which is the high central plain of the Iberian Peninsula. They are found across several Spanish provinces, including Ávila, Salamanca, Segovia, Zamora, Cáceres, and Ourense, as well as within the Portuguese provinces of Beira Baixa, Beiras e Serra da Estrela, Douro, and Terras de Trás-os-Montes.
To date, over 400 verracos have been identified in these regions. These sculptures are notable for their megalithic construction and their association with the Vettones culture.
