The Sierra Prieta is a mountain range located in central-northwest Arizona. It extends approximately 14 miles (23 km) in length and serves as a prominent mountainous region situated to the west of Prescott.
A notable geographical feature of the range is Thumb Butte, which stands at an elevation of 6,514 feet (1,985 m). This volcanic plug is located on the western perimeter of the city of Prescott.
