Aars, also known as Års, is a Danish town located in the Himmerland region of Denmark. Founded in the 14th century, it currently serves as the municipal seat and largest town of Vesthimmerland Municipality within Region Nordjylland. The town was formerly the seat of the mayor for the now-abolished Aars Municipality.
The town is characterized by its history as a former railway town and holds the nickname "Cimbri's town." It ranks as one of the four principal towns of Vesthimmerland, alongside Farsø, Løgstør, and Aalestrup. As of recent data, Aars is the 77th largest city in Denmark and the 11th largest town in Region Nordjylland.
