Skanderborg

Skanderborg is a town located in Skanderborg Municipality in Denmark. It is situated on the northern and northeastern edges of Skanderborg Lake, an area characterized by numerous smaller bodies of water including Lillesø, Sortesø, Døj Sø, and the swampy boglands of Eskebæk Mose.

The town has developed into a suburb of Aarhus to the northeast, linked by the urban areas of Stilling, Hørning, and Hasselager. Located just north of the town across Expressway E45 is Illerup Ådal, which is noted for its archaeological importance.
