Rønne is the largest town on Bornholm, an island located in the Baltic Sea. It serves as the administrative center for the Bornholm municipality and covers a total area of 29.11 square kilometres. The town has a population of approximately 13,589 residents.

Historically, Rønne functioned as its own municipality from 1970 until 2002, when it was incorporated into the county of Bornholm. The former municipality was divided into two parishes: Rønne Parish, which occupies a narrow strip of land on the westernmost part of the island, and Knudsker Parish.
