Djibouti, officially known as the Republic of Djibouti, is a country located in the Horn of Africa. It shares land borders with Somalia to the south, Ethiopia to the southwest, and Eritrea to the north. To its east, the nation is bounded by the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
The country covers a total area of 23,200 km² (8,958 sq mi). It serves as a strategic coastal nation positioned at the meeting point of major maritime trade routes in the region.
