Köpenick is a historic locality situated in the southeastern part of Berlin, Germany. It is geographically defined by its location at the confluence of the Dahme and Spree rivers.
The area has undergone several name changes over time, having been known as Copanic and later Cöpenick before officially adopting its current spelling in 1931.
