Wingerode is a municipality located in the district of Eichsfeld within the state of Thuringia, Germany. The settlement has a long history dating back to its founding in 1146.
The town celebrated its 850th anniversary in 1996. It remains a recognized administrative locality within the regional structure of Thuringia.
