Suhl

Suhl is a city located in the state of Thuringia, Germany. It is situated southwest of Erfurt, 110 kilometres northeast of Würzburg, and 130 kilometres north of Nuremberg. With a population of 37,000 inhabitants, it is recognized as the smallest of the six urban districts within Thuringia.

The city forms part of the largest urban area in the Thuringian Forest when combined with its northern neighbor-town, Zella-Mehlis, creating a total population of 46,000. The surrounding region is characterized by mountains reaching heights of up to 1,000 meters. This includes the Großer Beerberg, which is Thuringia's highest peak and is located approximately 5 kilometres northeast of the city centre.
