Schwerstedt is a village located in the Weimarer Land district of Thuringia, Germany. It functions as a constituent part of the larger municipality known as Am Ettersberg.
The village transitioned into its current administrative status on January 1, 2019, when it became part of the merged municipality. Historically, Schwerstedt was established as an independent municipality before this reorganization.
