Möckern is a town located in the Jerichower Land district within the state of Saxony-Anhalt, situated in east-central Germany. Geographically, it is positioned to the east of the city of Magdeburg.
The area near the town is historically significant as the site of the Battle of Möckern, which occurred south of the town in 1813.
