Greiz is a town located in the state of Thuringia, Germany. It serves as the administrative capital of the district of Greiz and is situated in the eastern portion of the state.
The town is positioned along the White Elster river, approximately 100 kilometres east of Erfurt, which is the state capital of Thuringia.
