Geschwenda is a village and former municipality located in the district of Ilm-Kreis within the state of Thuringia, Germany. It serves as a local community that has historically maintained its own municipal status.
As of January 1, 2019, Geschwenda became part of the larger municipality of Geratal. The village is notable for being the birthplace of Olympian Bruno Bartholome.
