Gerterode is a village located in the district of Eichsfeld within the state of Thuringia, Germany. It functions as a former municipality that has since been integrated into a larger administrative unit.
As of January 1, 2019, Gerterode became part of the municipality of Niederorschel. While it maintains its identity as a village, it no longer operates as an independent local government entity.
