Gerstungen is a municipality situated in the Wartburgkreis district of Thuringia, Germany. It is located in Niederdorla, approximately 42 kilometers southwest of the geographic center of the country.
The current administrative boundaries of Gerstungen were established in July 2018, when the former municipalities of Marksuhl and Wolfsburg-Unkeroda merged into the existing city.
