Freienorla is a small municipality located in the German state of Thuringia. It is situated approximately 145 miles from Berlin and is neighbored by the towns of Jena and Eisenberg.
The town is locally recognized for its Gothic church and its lower mill, a watermill facility believed to have been constructed in the tenth century. Additionally, Freienorla is served by a station on the Orlabahn railroad.
