Eisenach

Eisenach is a town located in the state of Thuringia, Germany. It serves as the primary urban center for western Thuringia and is situated near the former Inner German border. The town is positioned approximately 50 kilometres west of Erfurt, 70 km southeast of Kassel, and 150 km northeast of Frankfurt.

The city has a population of 42,000 inhabitants and borders northeastern Hessian regions. One of its most significant landmarks is Wartburg Castle, which was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999.
