Weißenfels is a city located in the state of Saxony-Anhalt in central Germany. It serves as the largest town within the Burgenlandkreis district and is situated along the banks of the river Saale.
The city is positioned approximately 30 km (20 mi) south of Halle. It functions as a regional center within its administrative district.
