Bitterfeld-Wolfen is a town located in the district of Anhalt-Bitterfeld in the state of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It is situated in south-eastern Saxony-Anhalt, positioned to the west of the river Mulde.
The town was established on July 1, 2007, through the merger of the towns of Bitterfeld and Wolfen along with the municipalities of Greppin, Holzweißig, and Thalheim. The region is characterized by heavy industry and lignite mining.
