Gohlis is a locality situated in the northern borough of Leipzig, Germany. Originally established as a village and knightly estate (Rittergut), it transitioned into a rural community (Landgemeinde) in 1838. The area underwent significant urbanization during the Gründerzeit period of the 19th century before being officially incorporated into the city of Leipzig in 1890.
Today, Gohlis is divided into three administrative localities within the Stadtbezirk Nord district. The neighborhood is characterized by a high density of residential buildings constructed between the late 19th century and the first half of the 20th century. As of 2020, the locality has a population exceeding 45,000 inhabitants.
