Parchim is a town located in the German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It serves as the administrative capital of the Ludwigslust-Parchim district.
The town is notable for being the birthplace of Helmuth von Moltke the Elder. A monument dedicated to him was erected in the city in 1876.
