Timmendorfer Strand is a municipality located in the district of Ostholstein within the German state of Schleswig-Holstein. It is situated on the Bay of Lübeck, positioned approximately 15 km (9.3 mi) northwest of the city of Lübeck and about 20 km (12 mi) southeast of Eutin.
