Tangstedt is a municipality located in the district of Stormarn within the German state of Schleswig-Holstein. It serves as a residential area situated in the northern part of the country.
The town is positioned approximately 12 km (7.5 mi) northwest of Ahrensburg and lies about 22 km (14 mi) northeast of the city of Hamburg.
