Süsel is a municipality located in the district of Ostholstein within the German state of Schleswig-Holstein. It is situated approximately 23 km north of Lübeck and 10 km southeast of Eutin.
The area is characterized by its proximity to local bodies of water, specifically the small lakes known as Barkauer See and Woltersteich.
