Steinburg is a district located in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein in northern Germany. The administrative seat for the district is the town of Itzehoe.
The geographic boundaries of Steinburg are defined by the surrounding districts of Dithmarschen, Rendsburg-Eckernförde, Segeberg, and Pinneberg. To its other side, the district is bordered by the Elbe River.
