Schleswig is a city located in Germany. It is situated within a historical region known as the Duchy of Schleswig, which covers the area between approximately 60 km north and 70 km south of the current border between Germany and Denmark.
The territory of the duchy has been divided between the two countries since 1920. Northern Schleswig is currently part of Denmark, while Southern Schleswig is located in Germany. The region is also referred to by the name Sleswick in English.
