Hetlingen is a municipality located in the district of Pinneberg within the German state of Schleswig-Holstein. It serves as a site for significant regional infrastructure, most notably regarding power transmission and waste management.

The municipality hosts Elbe Crossing 1 and Elbe Crossing 2, which are two power line crossings over the river Elbe. The pylons associated with Elbe Crossing 2 are recognized as the highest pylons in Europe. Additionally, Hetlingen is home to the largest sewage treatment facility in Schleswig-Holstein, which processes wastewater for several districts with a combined population of approximately 450,000 people.
