Flintbek is a municipality located in the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde within the German state of Schleswig-Holstein. It is situated on the River Eider, approximately 10 kilometers southwest of the city of Kiel.
The etymology of the name Flintbek is considered controversial; however, one proposed interpretation is that it originates from a combination of the word for flint (stone) and the term "bek."
