Saarlouis is a town located in the state of Saarland in western Germany. Situated on the banks of the Saar river, it lies near the international borders with France and Luxembourg.

The city serves as an important regional center and is the administrative seat of the district of Saarlouis. As of 2024, it has a population of over 37,000 residents, making it the fifth-largest city in the state of Saarland.

Saarlouis is also an integral part of the cross-border SaarLorLux Euroregion, which facilitates cooperation between the surrounding regions of Germany, Luxembourg, and France.
