Losheim am See is a municipality located in the district of Merzig-Wadern within the state of Saarland, Germany. It is situated on the southern ridge of the Hunsrück region, positioned approximately 10 kilometers northeast of Merzig and 35 kilometers northwest of Saarbrücken.
The area is notable for a reservoir created in the northern part of the municipality in 1974. This body of water serves as a popular destination for various recreational activities, including swimming and hiking.
