Simmern is a town located in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. It serves as the district seat for the Rhein-Hunsrück-Kreis and is also the administrative seat of the Verbandsgemeinde Simmern-Rheinböllen.
The town has a population of approximately 8,155 inhabitants. Within the Rhineland-Palatinate state development plan, Simmern is designated as a middle centre.
