Rutsweiler an der Lauter is a municipality (Ortsgemeinde) located in the Kusel district of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It functions as part of the Verbandsgemeinde Lauterecken-Wolfstein, which is a type of collective municipality.
The village shares its name with Rutsweiler am Glan, another location within the same district situated approximately 13 kilometers to the west-southwest. These are the only two places in the Kusel district that bear the name Rutsweiler.
