Neuwied is a town located in the northern part of the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. It serves as the capital of the district of Neuwied and is situated on the east bank of the Rhine river, approximately 12 km northwest of Koblenz.
The town is positioned along the railway line connecting Frankfurt am Main to Cologne. Administratively, it comprises 13 suburban districts, including Heimbach-Weis, Gladbach, Engers, Oberbieber, Niederbieber, Torney, Segendorf, Altwied, Block, Irlich, Feldkirchen, Heddesdorf, and Rodenbach. The largest of these districts is Heimbach-Weis, which has a population of approximately 8,000 inhabitants.
