Mayen is a town located in the eastern portion of the Volcanic Eifel Region within the Rhineland-Palatinate federal state of Germany. It serves as the administrative center for the Vordereifel "Collective Municipality," although it is not officially part of that municipality itself.
The town is situated in the Mayen-Koblenz District and includes several additional settlements, such as Alzheim, Kürrenberg, Hausen-Betzing, Hausen, and Nitztal.
