Altenkirchen is a town situated in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It serves as the administrative capital of the district of Altenkirchen and is the seat of the Verbandsgemeinde Altenkirchen-Flammersfeld.
Geographically, the town is located approximately 40 km east of Bonn and 50 km north of Koblenz.
