Velen

Velen is a town located in the Borken district of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It has a population of approximately 12,000 citizens and is composed of two primary settlements, Velen and Ramsdorf, along with four rural regions: Ostendorf-Krueckling, Bleking-Holthausen, Nordvelen, and Waldvelen.

The municipality officially received the status of a town in August 2012. It has also been recognized for its recreational qualities, having been granted the title "staatlich anerkannter Erholungsort" by the regional president in 2003 and the title "anerkannter Luftkurort" in January 2023.
