Solingen is a city located in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is situated along the northern edge of the Bergisches Land region, positioned south of the Ruhr area and approximately 25 kilometers east of Düsseldorf.
The city serves as a member of the regional authority of the Rhineland. Following Wuppertal, Solingen is recognized as the second-largest city in the Bergisches Land.
